Skylar Davis

Education: Skylar Davis earned a dual Bachelor of Arts degrees from Louisiana State University in Political Science, with a concentration in Race, Gender, and Equity, and in African and African American Studies, with a concentration in Public Policy and Public Administration. During her undergraduate years, Skylar was actively involved in numerous organizations and programs. She was a member of the distinguished chapter of the Collegiate 100, where she made history as one of the first seven women inducted into the organization. The following year, she served as the Health and Wellness Committee Chair for the chapter. In addition to her leadership in Collegiate 100, Skylar co- founded the Future Black Women in Law Association during her junior year. She also served as the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for LSU Student Government, where she championed initiative promoting inclusive excellence across campus.

Prior Experience: Ms. Davis interned at the Oklahoma County Courthouse under the leadership of Commissioner Carre Blumert, where she engaged directly with the community and supported local initiatives aimed at creating meaningful change. During her time in this role, she participated in community outreach efforts, attended public meetings, and assisted in organizing civic engagement events. In her final years of undergraduate studies, Ms. Davis served as a legal intern at the Baton Rouge County Courthouse with Commissioner Kimble. In this capacity, she performed duties commonly associated with legal assistants, including conducting legal research, drafting and reviewing documents, organizing case files, and preparing materials for hearings and meetings.. This role strengthened her understanding of legal procedures and enhanced her ability to navigate the intersection of law, policy, and public service.

Personal: Ms. Davis is a proud native of the north side of Oklahoma City. She enjoys exploring new restaurants across Oklahoma and has a passion for discovering local cuisine. In her free time, she loves spending quality time with her dog, Derrick, and cherishes moments with close friends.
